Elimination Chamber Recap!

Good Morning all and Happy Monday! Welcome to the recap of the WWE Smackdown Live Elimination Chamber Pay Per View from last night February 12th, 2017. If you read the preview that I released on Saturday you will know that I had a pretty good night of predictions so let’s jump into the results. Also, I’d just like t say that I am so happy there were 3 Women’s matches during this Pay Per View. We are coming out swinging and I love the way the Women’s division of Superstars are heading. Now on to the matches.

The match on the Elimination Chamber Kickoff show was between Mojo Rawley and Kurt Hawkins. There’s not too much to report here, but Mojo Rawley came out on top!

The first match that kicked off the Pay Per view was the match between Becky Lynch and Mickie James. The match was really good as Mickie James pulled out some nice moves. In the end Becky Lynch took the match.

The next match is a correction. I thought it was going to be a triple threat match, however, that wasn’t the case. The match was a handicap match between Dolph Ziggler versus Kalisto and Apollo Crews. The match started with Dolph’s ambush during Kalisto’s entrance. This was his way of leveling the playing field. I quite enjoy Dolph being a true heel now taking on that bad guy role and so did the crowd. Apollo Crews and Kalisto win after Kalisto recovers and makes his way back down to the ring. Dolph goes ballistic after the lost and attacks crews with a chair, further playing into the heel persona.

The Tag Team Turmoil match is a correction as well. This match was literally an elimination match where the last team standing would win the Tag Team Championship.  Heath Slater and Rhyno (Beauty and the Man Beast) started off the match versus Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango). Breezango gets elimintaed by Rhyno and Heath Slater which brings out the vaude villans next. They ar eliminated by Heath and Rhyno as well. The Usos are up next and end up taking out Heath Slater and Rhyno. Next the Tag Team Champs AmericanAlpha comes out and prevails over the Usos. The last team in was the Ascension. After a pretty good bout between the Ascension and American Alpha, American Alpha pulls out the miraculous win to retain their championship.

The next match was another Women’s matchup between Nikki Bella and Natalya. This match was hard fought by both contestants and ended with a double count out. The 2 would continue fighting in the back throughout the remainder of the event.

Next up was Randy Orton versus Luke Harper. This match was pretty good but as anticipated Randy Orton came out with the win.

The Smackdown Women’s naomichamp Championship match was really good with Alexa Bliss taking on the challenger Naomi. The match was very entertaining and I am so proud at how far the Women’s division has climbed. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome your New Smackdown Women’s Champion Naomi and it’s about time too!

The final match was truly worthy of the main event. It was the actual Elimination Chamber Match of Champion John Cena taking on Dean Ambrose, Aj Styles, Baron Corbin, Bray Wyatt and The Miz. This match was truly incredible from the opening until the very end. The 2 Superstars matched  up at the beginning are John Cena and AJ Styles. With these 2 wrestlers starting in the center of the ring the other 4 were in the pods around the ring watching and waiting for the doors to unlock in 5 minute intervals. Dean Ambrose came out first with a ball of energy jumping off anything he could find. He was a whirlwind shoving both Cena and Styles into the cage. Baron Corbin was out next wreaking havok and hitting people with the End of Days back and forth. Bray Wyatt was out next and then the Miz. All 6 Superstars were in the ring at one point without anyone being eliminated. So what happened?

Baron Corbin distracted by the Miz’s pod being unlocked was pinned by Ambrose. Corbin upset didn’t leave and destroyed Ambrose, allowing Miz to get the easy pinfall. Miz went on a rampage and eventually was stopped in his tracks being eliminated. We are down to 3 Cena, Wyatt and Styles. After intense stares and punches, Wyatt hits Sister Abigail on Cena with the pinfall to follow guaranteeing a new WWE Champion. Styles put up a great fight but the Eater of Worlds Bray Wyatt finally bray gets his Championship and it’s well deserved! During his celebration Randy Orton emerges and stares into the Elimination Chamber. This is going to be amazing for Wrestlemania!

That’s the recap for Elimination Chamber! Check back with me the Saturday before Fastlane for my predictions and the Monday following the Pay Per View for the recap. How are you liking the way that the Wrestlemania picture is coming together? What other surprises and matches do you believe will happen in the next 7 weeks? Let’s talk WWE!
